Paula LV Shortlisted for National Award

It is with delight and considerable pride that I can announce that I have been shortlisted in one of just three National Micropigmentation Awards! However most importantly, a massive Thank You to my clients who have taken the time to vote and give their reasons why I should win!

For the first time in the UK, the Micropigmentation Awards 2016 are to be held in The Belfry Hotel in Nottingham on May 21st. I was nominated in the category for Semi-Permanent Makeup Artist with Two Years Training and Under - I qualified with Karen Betts’ Nouveau Contour team in April 2014.

I’ll be honest, at first I was a little sceptical as I am aware of other ‘Awards’ within the hair and beauty industry that seem to be a little more than a ‘who gets the most likes’ competition. However, after speaking to the team at Micropigmentation UK, they assured me it was all about recognising excellence in the industry.

So…I submitted an essay about myself explaining why I was so passionate about this industry, and then supplied three before and after pictures each of Eyebrows, Eyeliner and Lips. What I felt was crucial though, is that I had to remove my logo and watermarks, ensuring that the judges were completely impartial when judging the work. And then, of course, your votes are then taken into account.

And I made it through the shortlist! So it’s glad rags on for May, The Husband is coming with me, although he’ll be in the Spa/Bar/Pool all day as it’s also a conference in the daytime with some of the biggest names in Semi-Permanent in the world, such as Tracey Simpson, Dawn Cragg and Terence Jones. There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, so fingers crossed, it’s all up to the judges now.

So again, I want to say a huge Thank You to all who voted for me, and for trusting me with your faces and your confidence.
